Things to Remember at Your Next Trade Show

Trade Show Regulations

Every trade show venue has its own unique set of regulations. Larger convention centers have extremely strict regulations to prevent large scale disasters like fires and explosions, but even smaller trade shows will usually regulate the size of your booth, your shipping crate/case, and what kind of lights you can use. Before you attend your next trade show or convention, be sure to check the regulations for the particular show that you are going to attend, and make sure your trade show display meets the guidelines.

Tools Needed to Assemble your Booth

Before you leave for your trade show, you need to be sure that you have all the tools that you need to properly assemble your booth at the show. There is no feeling more heartbreaking than arriving at the show without the proper equipment. Often you can borrow tooling from neighboring exhibitors in a crunch, but you should definitely plan on remembering to bring your own tools.

Plan for the Worst in Shipping

Whether you use FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, or any trucking company, chances are good that your package will not be treated with the care you expect. Trade show display cases are bulky and awkward to handle, and are easily damaged in shipping, so be sure you have a backup plan in place in case your booth does not arrive in perfect condition. Any components that are absolutely necessary should be carefully packaged, and backup parts should be taken along. Remember to plan for the worst and your show will go off without a hitch.

At Tradeshowdirect, we specialize in providing high-quality trade show displays and booths to our customers across North America. Check out our trade show articles for more information about trade shows and displays.
